Faith Mutete

Faith Mutete is the Founder and CEO of Women in Mining Zimbabwe (WIM Zimbabwe) and a leading advocate for gender inclusion, sustainable mining, and community development across Africa. A Public Health Specialist with more than 15 years of leadership experience, she has managed large-scale development programmes in partnership with international organisations, governments, and development agencies, with a focus on health, social impact, and community resilience in mining regions.
A small-scale and gemstone miner herself, Faith brings practical industry experience to her work bridging artisanal mining communities, policymakers, and industry stakeholders. Through WIM Zimbabwe, she leads initiatives that empower women and youth, promote ESG compliance, support responsible mining practices, and advance the Just Energy Transition in line with the Africa Mining Vision and Agenda 2063.
Faith serves as a G100 Country Chair for Sustainable Mining, a Strategic Advisor on Just Energy Transition initiatives within the African mining sector, and a Global Mentor with Columbia University. Her contributions have earned international recognition, including the WIM100 Award, the United Nations SDG Award, and recognition among the Top 50 Pan-African Women in Energy.
She is widely recognised as a champion for inclusive growth, ethical mining, and the advancement of women and youth across Africa’s mineral value chains.
